Getting Started: First Steps

New to Wallin? This guide walks you through creating your account, exploring the interface, and setting up your workspace.

Creating Your Account

Visit /register to sign up. You'll provide:

  • Name — Your full name
  • Organization Name — The name of your business or team
  • Email — A valid email address for login
  • Password — A secure password (at least 8 characters)

Click Register. You'll be placed on the Free plan with:

  • 1 connection (WhatsApp, Instagram, or Messenger)
  • 1 agent
  • 5 conversation labels
  • 5 broadcasts/month

The Sidebar Navigation

After logging in, you see a collapsible sidebar on the left (green background, #8ac185). The navigation changes based on your role:

If You're an Agent

You'll see:

  • Inbox — Unified conversation list across all channels
  • My Team — Team members (if you're a supervisor)
  • Snippets — Canned responses

Agents are redirected away from admin pages; /inbox is your main workspace.

If You're an Admin, Member, or Owner

You'll see these sections:

  • Dashboard — Overview of metrics and setup progress
  • Inbox — Unified conversation list
  • Channels — Connect and manage WhatsApp/Instagram/Messenger accounts
  • Marketing — Broadcasts, monitoring, templates
  • Audience — Segments, contact import, subscribers, opt-in builder
  • Automation — Flows, snippets, OTP applications
  • Workspace — Team members, agents, shifts, labels, organization settings

Click the menu icon (≡) to collapse/expand the sidebar. On mobile, the sidebar slides in from the left.

To get the most out of Wallin, follow these steps:

1. Connect Your First Channel (5 minutes)

Go to Channels → Connection Hub and choose WhatsApp, Instagram, or Messenger. You'll authenticate via Meta and select which account/phone to connect. You can connect more channels later as your plan allows.

2. Invite Your Team (5 minutes)

Go to Workspace → Team Members. Click Invite Team Member, enter their email, and choose their role:

  • Owner — Full control, including billing
  • Admin — Manage channels, campaigns, team members
  • Member — View and manage conversations, create campaigns
  • Agent — Access /inbox to reply to customers (can also manage personal snippets)

They'll receive an email invitation. New users can accept it at /invitations/{token}/accept and create their account, or existing users can join directly.

3. Import Your Contacts (10 minutes)

Go to Audience → Contact Import to upload a CSV of your customer phone numbers or identifiers. This builds your audience for later broadcasts.

4. Send Your First Broadcast (10 minutes)

Go to Marketing → Broadcasts and click Create Broadcast. Choose a segment (or create one from your imported contacts), select an approved template, and send.

5. Invite Agents to the Inbox (Optional)

Add team members with the Agent role so they can reply to incoming messages from your /inbox. Each agent works independently but sees all conversations their role permits.
