Rejected β Meta rejected the template (usually content policy). Review the rejection reason and resubmit with changes.

Syncing Templates
Click Sync with Meta to pull templates directly from your Meta business account (if new ones were created outside Wallin). Syncing happens automatically once per hour.
Template Variables
Use {{1}}, {{2}}, etc. in the body to add dynamic content. When sending a broadcast:
- WhatsApp broadcasts let you map fields to variables
- For example,
Hello {{1}}, your code is {{2}}β map contactnameto{{1}}and a generatedcodeto{{2}} - Each recipient gets personalized content
Messenger Templates
Messenger templates are not pre-approved β you can send free-form text anytime within the 24-hour window (or using tags for campaigns).
Creating a Messenger Template
-
Click New Template and choose Messenger
-
Enter:
- Name β internal reference
- Text β message content (up to 2,000 characters)
-
Save
Messenger templates are optionalβyou can always just type a free-form message in a broadcast. Use templates for consistency.
Messenger Broadcast Tags
When sending a Messenger broadcast outside the 24-hour window, you can attach a Meta tag to allow delivery:
ACCOUNT_UPDATEβ Account/subscription changesPOST_PURCHASE_UPDATEβ Order confirmations, shipment updatesCONFIRMED_EVENT_UPDATEβ Event remindersHUMAN_AGENTβ Escalation to a live agent
Choose the tag that best describes your message type. Meta enforces compliance; misuse may disable your account.
Instagram Templates
Instagram does not support pre-made templates. Messages sent via Instagram are free-form text and media, sent within the 30-day response window or by replying to an inbound message.
Troubleshooting Templates
"Template Rejected" after submission?
- Check content policies (no spam, links, excessive caps)
- Avoid unverified business claims
- Keep header/body/footer under Meta limits
- Resubmit with corrections
"I synced but my template doesn't appear"
- Refresh the page (browser cache)
- Check the correct language and channel
- Verify the template was approved in your Meta business account
"Template approval is taking too long"
- Marketing templates take up to 48 hours
- OTP/Transactional are usually instant
- If over 48 hours, check Meta Business Manager for rejection reasons
